MEET THE TEAM
Randy Knight Mugshot

Randy Knight
Founder & Principal Consultant

Randy is a Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) for SQL Server and the founder of SQL Solutions Group, which he started in October 2010 after more than two decades as a SQL Server DBA and architect. He’s been in the technology industry since 1988, with deep experience across Microsoft, Cisco, and Novell environments before specializing in SQL Server. Before founding SSG, Randy held DBA and architect roles in financial services, telecommunications, and consumer internet — including a stint as database architect for match.com (no, he didn’t meet his wife there). Randy is an active member of the SQL Server community and a frequent speaker at PASS Data Community Summit, SQL Saturday, and regional user groups. “SSG exists because mid-market companies deserve the same caliber of SQL Server expertise the Fortune 500 companies take for granted.”

Warwick Rudd mugshot

Warwick Rudd
Senior Consultant

Warwick, located in Australia (Down Under), has worked with SQL Server in various roles for more than 25 years. He is a Microsoft Certified Master and Microsoft Data Platform MVP who covers nearly the entire Microsoft Data Platform. Warwick enjoys travelling and seeing new places with his wife and is an avid rugby fan.

Rich Benner
Senior Consultant

Rich has been a DBA for 15 years and has worked with startups as well as large enterprise clients. He specialises (see, he’s in the UK) in performance tuning and has been exposed to the entire Microsoft Data Platform in one form or another. Rich has seen a lot of issues in the wild and wants to help you avoid making the same mistakes he has. He enjoys a nice cup of Yorkshire tea alongside his English Muffins in the morning.

Kyle Burwell mugshot

Kyle Burwell
DBA

Kyle resides in Montana and has been working with SQL Server since 2007. The majority of his experience has been in healthcare IT, where he has held various roles working with the entire Microsoft Data Platform, primarily as a Production DBA. Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, usually watching one of their four kids competing in various sporting events. When not in front of a computer or out with his family, Kyle can usually be found in his woodshop building furniture.

Lindsey Belden mug shot

Lindsey Belden
Director of Operations

Lindsey brings deep expertise from the MSP world, where she held senior leadership roles in operations and project management. Before joining SSG, she built a track record of turning complex operational challenges into streamlined, scalable systems — reducing response times and delivering measurable results for both her teams and clients. At SSG, Lindsey channels that same hands-on approach into ensuring every client receives proactive, responsive support. She’s the engine behind how SSG stays ahead of client needs rather than simply reacting to them. Lindsey calls the foothills of Colorado home. She is an avid yogi and enjoys all the outdoor activities the mountains have to offer, such as hiking, four wheeling, camping, and paddle boarding.

Sharri Herrig
Office Manager

Sharri has been working with SQL Solutions Group since 2021 providing administrative support to the team. Her background has been working for large corporations supporting groups in new product development. Jason Russell mugshot

Jason Russell
Marketing Consultant

Jason started supporting Randy and SQL Solutions Group in 2014. He’s responsible for website content, overseeing the blogging effort, producing SSG’s regular webinars, and managing email campaigns. He has worked in Missouri at a military academy, in Miami at a haircare company, and mostly in Utah for a variety of brands. When he’s not writing something interesting (hopefully), he’s probably spinning a record, pampering the family Weimaraner (Gandalf), or making something unhealthy in the kitchen.
